500 BENEFIT FROM THE BS-E4 SENIOR CITIZENS’ MEDICAL AND WELFARE OUTREACH

In further fulfilment of his electioneering campaign promises, Rep. Bamidele Salam on 20th December, 2019 hosted 500 Elderly persons from across the four Local Governments of the Federal Constituency at the maiden edition of the BS-E4 Senior Citizens’ Medical and Welfare Outreach, held at the Country Home residence of Late Sen. Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke in Ede, Osun State.

The Medical and Welfare Outreach was targeted at helping the elderly in the Federal Constituency maintain sound health. Medical Personnel, including Medical Doctors, Nurses, Medical Laboratory Scientists, Pharmacists and Health Assistants were on ground to attend to the medical needs of the beneficiaries. Beneficiaries underwent Malaria, Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar tests after which beneficiaries who needed medication were provided with all necessary medication free of charge.

…..500 Elderly Persons received welfare items

All 500 senior citizens who benefitted from this Outreach received Welfare Packages that included food items and cash. This was done to ensure that while beneficiaries are attended to medically, they are also given a welfare package that will help them maintain a sound state of health at old age.

…..PTAD attended to Pensioners

The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) on the invitation of Rep. Bamidele Salam, set up a desk at the Outreach to attend to Pensioners who are on the Defined Benefits Scheme and are experiencing one challenge or the other in the receipt of their pension payments.

Pensioners from across the State were allowed to speak to the PTAD Officials who logged all complaints for processing and gave advice to the Pensioners where applicable. The Directorate has since acted on the findings and the concerned Pensioners are receiving solutions to the complaints that they presented at the Outreach.
